ECIS 2009 Call for Papers : Information Systems in a Globalising World: Challenges, Ethics and Practices<\/p>\n

The conference will be jointly organised by the Department of Business and Economics at University of Verona and the Information Systems and Innovation Group of the Department of Management of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).<\/p>\n
The universal diffusion of Information and Communication Technologies is creating a fragmented knowledge frontier of the emerging challenges associated with the adoption of technologies at the local and global level. This frontier cuts across the organizations, states and communities that define the new laboratory for critical research on the dynamics of information systems in a globalised world, raising ethical and practical concerns at different levels of analysis. The aim of ECIS 2009 is to cultivate this new laboratory by calling for original, unpublished research and research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress papers and panel proposals in all areas of information systems research.<\/p>\n

Submission Guidelines<\/p>\n
There will be no specialist tracks in ECIS 2009 with the only differentiation being between full research papers and research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress papers. The management of the reviews for each paper will be handled by an Associate Editor, who will advise the research \/ research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress chairs as to the suitability of the paper following the review process..<\/p>\n
Research and research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress papers:<\/p>\n
Papers for ECIS cover all aspects of information systems, broadly defined, and may take the form of completed research papers and research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress papers.<\/p>\n
Research papers should document established results and be presented to the highest academic standards. Research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress papers may address issues still under development. However, academic rigour is still expected.<\/p>\n
Each paper will be allocated to an Associate Editor (AE) who has specialist expertise in the topic of the paper. The AE will identify suitable reviewers for the paper and after the review process will advise the research \/ research\u00e2\u20ac\u201cin\u00e2\u20ac\u201cprogress chairs as to the suitability of the paper following the review process..<\/p>\n
In order to facilitate the identification of appropriate AEs authors should carefully select the keywords that describe their paper. A list of keywords will be soon available on the conference website<\/p>\n
Panels:
\nPanel sessions are 90 minutes long. Successful panel proposals should be able to answer these following questions:<\/p>\n
Focus of panel: What is the theme of the panel? Who is the target audience? What will the audience get from attending the panel?<\/p>\n
Panellists: Who are the panellists? What position will they represent? Who is going to chair the panel and ensure that it runs successfully?<\/p>\n
Structure of panel: How will the panel be structured? How will the panel involve the audience?<\/p>\n
