For further information, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csupomona.edu\/wtsi\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.csupomona.edu\/wtsi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Wireless Telecommunications Symposium brings together industry professionals and academics from companies, governmental agencies, and universities around the world to exchange information on advances in mobile communications and wireless networking technology, applications, management, and security. Past WTS participants have included Dr. Irwin Jacobs, Chairman and Co-Founder of QUALCOMM; Mike Lazaridis, Founder and Vice Chairman, Research In Motion; and Dr. Vinton Cerf, Dr. Robert Kahn, and Dr. Leonard Kleinrock, Internet pioneers.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for WTS 2014 will be &#8220;Wireless Communications in a Connected World&#8221;. Planned highlights of WTS 2014 include executive presentations and keynote addresses; presentations of accepted academic and practitioner research papers; panel discussions; tutorials and workshops; a poster paper session; and a doctoral students\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 session. Accepted papers will be published in the main conference proceedings and submitted to IEEE Xplore. The proceedings also will be distributed at the Symposium via a CD. Awards will be given for the most outstanding paper presented and best graduate and undergraduate student papers presented. Some selected high quality papers from WTS 2014 will be considered for publication in the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Telecommunications &#038; Networking, IGI Global publisher, pending their successful extension and an expedited review process.<\/p>\n<p>Topic areas of interest in the E-health and Telecommunications in Healthcare Mini-Symposium include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Networking Technologies for Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Infrastructure for E-health\/M-health<\/li>\n<li>Wireless in Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>E-health\/M-health Architectures<\/li>\n<li>Management of Healthcare Technologies<\/li>\n<li>Wireless for Managing Chronic Diseases<\/li>\n<li>Mobile Devices in Healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Smart Infrastructures for Healthcare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Extended versions of some of the papers in this mini-symposium will be invited for IEEE Access and\/or IEEE Computer.<\/p>\n<h3>Important Dates<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>January 12, 2014: Paper submission deadline<\/li>\n<li>February 9, 2014 Notification of acceptance<\/li>\n<li>March 9, 2014 Camera-ready submissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Submit your papers as part of the regular conference.
