SIGHealth Role in Special Issues

Crafting of Initial Call

· Provide opinion/guidance before it is sent regarding the concept in light of other recent and forthcoming calls within SIG-Health’s knowledge

· Provide opinion/guidance before it is sent regarding possible journal/journals for feasibility

· Help with final journal selection

· Help with AE suggestions

· Provide wording and approve language of SIG-Health as an official sponsor in the call text

· Send reminders and notices to SIG-Health members regarding the call.

· Contact any other associated organizations (based on the nature of the call)

· Send information to the chairs of major public health (administration and informatics) departments

· Distribute flyers at multiple conferences that SIG-Health officers attend: including AMIA, ICIS, HICSS, ECIS, ATA.

· Feature special issue call on our newly redesigned web site

· If possible, announce special issue call at our annual meeting at AMCIS and informal meetings at other conferences

· Feature the call in other AIS outlets available to SIG-Health as appropriate

· Solicit reviewers from SIG-Health membership

· By prior agreement, help review abstracts

· Facilitate any required associated workshop arrangements (by prior agreement with SigHealth)
