Based on our new Bylaws, we ask you to vote for the SIG-Health officers. There are three positions and several candidates. Each candidate has provided us with a bio (SIGhealth candidate bios).

The voting process:
1.  Select the candidate of your choice for each position.
2.  Send your email to Gondy Leroy (gondy.leroy@ cgu.edu) and Bengisu Tulu (bengisu@ wpi.edu).
3.  Use the email address known to AIS for this correspondence, so that we can ensure there is one vote per person.
4.  Vote counting will start after December 25th (midnight PST). Two members on the nominating committee will count the votes. The other two members on the nominating committee will verify the results according to our Bylaws (Article 6 Election Procedure). We will communicate the results before the end of 2007 by mail and through this website.

The AMCIS 2008 health care track sponsored by SIGhealth serves as a forum at which researchers (and practitioners) can come together to discuss issues related to the application of information technology in a health care setting. Information Technology (IT) is no longer perceived as just a supporting tool, but has become a strategic necessity for developing an integrated healthcare IT infrastructure that can improve services and reduce medical errors. IT investments in the health sector have increased dramatically and are expected to rise further over the near term. Opportunities for innovation and application abound and merit research. In addition, research can also provide insight regarding complex problems associated with IT in health care setting. Addressing opportunities and issues merits attention from multiple disciplines, including a much needed IS perspective, working independently and collaboratively with other disciplines, within the health care context.
